What item do I need?
1 of 8: First, find a book that describes how to anoint oneself in order to gain Malar's favor.
2 of 8: You want the book called "Ceremonies of the Hunt."
3 of 8: You'll find it while searching the bodies in the hunters' camp near the Ashenwood's big glowing ash tree. (See the "Hunting Party" quest.)
4 of 8: Examine the book in inventory to find a passage that mentions gaining the favor of Malar.
5 of 8: It says that a proper anointing mixture is made by putting "two significant elements of the forest" into a container filled with "the blood of an animal that Malar would favor."
6 of 8: The two significant elements are the blighted leaves and bark cinders, which you already have, so what about the blood?
7 of 8: You'll need to get some from a special Malar-favored beast.
8 of 8: Such a beast can be found in the cave called "Predator Den." (See the General Ashenwood Tips.)
