How can I kill the elemental *and* raid all the bloated corpses?
1 of 14: NOTES: If you go this way, you'll still be credited for finishing the machine sequence rather than doing things the elemental-killin' way. Also, the rubble that falls when the elemental dies will still fall, cutting you off from finishing the "The Sleeper" optional quest. It'll also prevent you from ever reaching Gulk'aush unless you follow my directions precisely.
2 of 14: Before you activate the third machine, run back to the elemental room.
3 of 14: Broadcast a "stand your ground" order, then run your main character back to the third Imaskari machine.
4 of 14: When you activate that machine, the door to the elemental room will close and lock, but that's okay since your followers will still be inside it. (And the door will open later on, after they kill the elemental.)
5 of 14: Leave them there, and take your main character around to loot all of the bloated corpses. Hopefully, he'll be able to handle all the combats he comes across by himself.
6 of 14: Since you'll be cut off from the Sleeper after the elemental is killed, you might as well go slay or devour her.
7 of 14: After you're done exploring and looting, take your main character over to a spot near the entrance to Gulk'aush's room.
8 of 14: With him there, it's finally time to get the elemental killed.
9 of 14: Switch to one of your followers and pause the game.
10 of 14: Have him broadcast a "follow me" command to get everyone else ready for combat, then right-click on your main character's portrait and issue a "stand your ground" order to make sure he stays put.
11 of 14: Right-click on the Imaskari device near the elemental and choose to bash it.
12 of 14: Now your followers can kill the elemental and get the Ring of the Untherite Generals from its remains.
13 of 14: After that's done, switch back to your main character.
14 of 14: Quicksave the game, then load the quicksave to get your followers teleported to your location.
