Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer Hints

What can I make with the hags' essences?

  • 1 of 9: Several different things.
  • 2 of 9: If you got two or more essences, put two of them into the Enchanter's Satchel and use Mold Spirit on it to get a helmet called Lesser Eyes of the Coven. It gives Charisma +4, Intelligence +4, Wisdom +4, and lets you cast Deep Slumber and Phantasmal Killer once a day each.
  • 3 of 9: If you use five essences instead of two, you'll get a superior helmet called Eyes of the Coven. It adds 9 to the same three stats, and lets you cast Premonition, True Seeing, and Weird once a day each.
  • 4 of 9: You could also use coven essences to add properties to existing weapons and armor.
  • 5 of 9: You can use anywhere from one to five essences on each item, with more essences giving stronger properties.
  • 6 of 9: Enchanting a weapon will add Darkvision, Sleep on Hit (DC of 14 plus the number of essences used times two), and an enhancement value of 3 plus the number of essences used.
  • 7 of 9: For instance, if you enchant a Longsword +3 using five coven essences, the resulting longsword will be +8 and will have the Darkvision and Sleep on Hit DC=24 properties.
  • 8 of 9: As for armor, you get an AC bonus of 3 plus the number of essences used, an armor bonus vs. outsiders of 1 plus the number of essences used, and immunity to mind-affecting spells.
  • 9 of 9: It's best to enchant weapon and armor items that already have three special properties on them. That way, they'll end up with a total of six!
