Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer Hints
Akachi Combat Tips
of 10: If your spirit energy is under 70 or so, you should start out by using Devour Spirit on Akachi a couple of times. (You can do so even if you used Suppress or whatever recently.)
of 10: Akachi will be draining your spirit energy by huge chunks fairly frequently, so you'll need to watch your spirit energy bar and use Devour Spirit on him to help you stay alive. (Don't worry about your craving bar at all, since this is the final part of the game.)
of 10: If you have the completed Mask of the Betrayer, wearing it will help you with the spirit energy drains. They can still happen, but they don't seem to happen as often, and they won't drain as much spirit energy.
of 10: Akachi's scythe can hit you for some serious negative energy damage, so you may have to use Potions of Heal every now and then, too.
of 10: Watch for Akachi to start attacking your companion so that you can glug some potions and devour his spirit without getting hit.
of 10: Also, if your companion can cast any sort of summoning spell, have her do that to help distract Akachi.
of 10: Better yet, if she can cast Bigby's Crushing Hand, use that to keep Akachi from being able to run around or hit you very much with his scythe.
of 10: Another good opportunity for glugging potions and using Devour Spirit is when Akachi is standing still and doing his "white circles of energy" routine.
of 10: When his health gets low, he'll summon in various auxiliary spirits that you'll need to kill before you resume your attack on him.
of 10: After you kill the Insatiable Hunger spirit, Akachi should go down very quickly.
