The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Test of Patience
of 10: The door to this test is in the NE corner of the room where you appear in the dreamworld.
of 10: Inside the test area, move forward and take the mysterious scroll from the Ayleid-style chest named "Study."
of 10: Reading the scroll, it seems to be just a bunch of meaningless symbols, so put it away for now and start exploring (right after saving).
of 10: You won't get very far due to the fact that this area is a set of three big traps that feature pressure plates and dart-spitting devices that fire at you when you step on certain plates.
of 10: Each of the three traps has a safe route across which you can discover by pure trial and error ...
of 10: You could always try to run and jump across the traps. If you survive, you can use the healing potions you found downstairs in the house to heal yourself, or you can use the Rest key function to wait one hour.
of 10: Below are graphics that show the safe route across each trap.
of 10: NOTE: Shortcuts can be taken in the above routes. If you're acrobatic enough, you can jump over several pressure plates at once. Also, you can easily take a shortcut across the middle of trap #3.
of 10: The element of patience is just past the third trap.
