The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

Level On Up

  • 1 of 9: The only really important character development stage that's left is leveling up beyond level 3.
  • 2 of 9: You will want to eventually reach at least level 30 to get all the best leveled treasure. And once you're at level 30, you might as well keep going since nothing will get significantly harder with further level-ups.
  • 3 of 9: If you've practiced your skills way up like I've been advising, you'll have a whole bunch of level-ups pending that you can take all in a row.
  • 4 of 9: Below, I list some leveling-up highlights.
  • 5 of 9: When you reach level 5, do Namira's Daedric Shrine Quest to get a ring that has fairly good Reflect Damage and Reflect Spell effects on it.
  • 6 of 9: At level 10, do Meridia's, Peryite's, and Nocturnal's quests to get the extremely useful Ring of Khajiiti (Chameleon 35%), Skeleton Key (unbreakable lockpick), and Spell Breaker shield (Reflect Spell 30%). You should also do Malacath's quest to get Volendrung if you're a blunt weapon user or want the best paralyzing weapon in the game.
  • 7 of 9: At level 17, you should start raking in the sigil stones from Oblivion Worlds. The effects that I find most useful are Feather 125 points, Chameleon 30%, Fire/Frost/Shock Shield 25%, and Fortify Strength 12 points.
  • 8 of 9: At level 19, visit at least one copy of Oblivion World 2 and get the Hatred-brand artifact weapons from it. The Hatred's Soul bow is particularly useful.
  • 9 of 9: After that, important leveling landmarks depend on what you want out of non-random leveled treasure. Use the Constant Effect Item Lists to see what quests you have to do at what levels in order to get super-useful artifacts like the Mundane Ring, the Escutcheon of Chorrol, etc. A character with high skills, great armor and weapons, and some serious Resist and Reflect effects on him is a mighty character indeed!
