The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
How does this work?
1 of 7: First, you need two or more empty grand soul gems.
2 of 7: Fill all of them by soul-trapping low-level creatures like rats, mud crabs, etc. Remember that they'll still be convertible because they were empty when you got them.
3 of 7: Put all of the filled gems on a necromatic altar on a spectral light day.
4 of 7: Cast Soul Trap on the altar one time for each of the gems minus one. (If you have three gems on the altar, cast Soul Trap twice. If you have seven, cast Soul Trap six times. Etc.)
5 of 7: Check the altar to find that it has one black soul gem for every time you cast Soul Trap, plus it has all of the original grand soul gems still remaining!
6 of 7: Choose "take all," then open up the altar's inventory again and put back all of your grand soul gems.
7 of 7: Then repeat the process as many times as you want.
