The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

Permanent Bound Weapon Tips

  • 1 of 10: Go to a spellmaking altar and create a spell that summons two or more different bound weapons at the same time for 1 second.
  • 2 of 10: The two cheapest bound weapon spells are for the dagger and axe, so you'll have to practice your Conjuration skill up to 25 before you can start.
  • 3 of 10: Once it's 25 or more, you can create a spell that summons a bound dagger and a bound axe for 1 second when cast.
  • 4 of 10: Cast the spell and hit the Menu Mode key to pause the game as soon as it takes effect.
  • 5 of 10: Go to your weapon inventory to find that you've got the bound axe equipped (which makes it undroppable) and the bound dagger unequipped (which makes it droppable).
  • 6 of 10: Drop the bound dagger, then unpause the game and allow the spell to wear off.
  • 7 of 10: The axe will disappear, but the dagger never will, so pick it up. It's a permanent and weightless Daedric dagger!
  • 8 of 10: Once your Conjuration skill is 50, you can make spells that'll give you permanent bound bows and maces. When it reaches 75, you can make permanent bound sword spells.
  • 9 of 10: Don't put all of those weapons on the same spell, though -- pair each one up with the bound axe, which is always the weapon equipped when such spells are cast. This means that it's impossible to create a permanent bound axe that way.
  • 10 of 10: The really neat thing about all this is that permanent bound weapons can be enchanted just like any other weapon. You can build up a huge arsenal of powerful enchanted weapons that you can carry everywhere with you since they're all totally weightless!
