The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
The Battle for Castle Kvatch
1 of 12: You won't be able to get this quest until after you finish the Main Quest called "Breaking the Siege of Kvatch." (It's a subquest to "Find the Heir.")
2 of 12: Talk to Matius again after getting this quest and say that you're ready to go.
3 of 12: Follow him and the boys out through the north door to Kvatch and help them kill off some Daedra.
4 of 12: Talk to him again to learn that the castle gates are locked, and you'll need to get them open from the inside.
5 of 12: After you help your allies kill all the Daedra past the castle gates, follow Matius and the rest through a door that leads into the castle's Great Hall.
6 of 12: When Matius says to go on ahead while he holds this area, help him take down all the nearby Daedra, then head to the other end of the area to find a door to the next Great Hall area.
7 of 12: In it will be more Daedra opponents, lots of silver items you can pick up, and an Acrobatics skill book you can read.
8 of 12: After you finish looting the area (and the optional Dining Hall and Sleeping Quarters side areas), find the door to the count's quarters and go through it.
9 of 12: After fighting one last Daedra, check the body of Ormellius Goldwine to learn that he's the count you were sent to find.
10 of 12: Take his signet ring and go talk to Matius back in the first Great Hall area.
11 of 12: Turn over the ring to finish the quest and get a special Kvatch Cuirass.
12 of 12: TIP: You can always return to the castle later to continue looting it, so there's no need to overload yourself with stuff on this trip.
