The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

How can I get to where I can close the Oblivion gate?

  • 1 of 14: You'll need to get up to the top of the Blood Feast tower via rather convoluted means.
  • 2 of 14: Near where you first enter the tower, use the two "magicka essences" devices to restore magic power if you need to.
  • 3 of 14: Then go through one of the two doors that lead to the Rending Halls.
  • 4 of 14: Head up to the upper floor of the halls to find a blood fountain for health restoring, plus two doors that lead to the second floor of the Blood Feast area.
  • 5 of 14: There, find the doors to the Corridors of Dark Salvation.
  • 6 of 14: In that area, you'll find a couple of locked "citadel hall" doors that require a key.
  • 7 of 14: The locked door in the SW corner just leads to some optional loot. Go through the other one to get to a Blood Feast door that you need to take.
  • 8 of 14: TIP: If you skip by that Blood Feast door and keep going, you'll reach a door to a walkway that'll take you into the optional Meat Harbor tower.
  • 9 of 14: Back in Blood Feast, run up to where you can activate a runed portal. If you're fast or sneaky enough, you can use the portal without having to fight the nearby Daedra.
  • 10 of 14: Past the portal, move along the ascending paths until you find a door to the Sigillum Sanguis. It's locked, but fortunately your sigil key will open it.
  • 11 of 14: Near the blood fountain, find the doorway that leads into the sigil stone chamber.
  • 12 of 14: Use the magical essence devices to restore your magic power, then go up one of the red spiky-looking ramps and then up a red tissue-like ramp.
  • 13 of 14: At the top, take the sigil stone when you're ready to close off this part of Oblivion forever. (You may want to go hunt treasure in optional areas first if you haven't already.)
  • 14 of 14: TIP: This sigil stone, like all sigil stones, can be used once from inventory to enchant either a weapon or a piece of armor or clothing. See the tips below for all the details.
