The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
What all spells should I make?
1 of 7: Start off by making all the practice spells described in the Practice Spell List.
2 of 7: For Destruction, make the first practice spell and use it (and your Restoration practice spell for healing) until your Destruction skill is 25, then make the cheapest possible Disintegrate Armor on Self spell. It'll be useful in making permanent bound armor, and it can be used to practice Destruction without injuring yourself.
3 of 7: Also, make a Drain Skill spell that'll drain your Restoration skill by 100 points for 1 second when cast. It'll come in handy later on when you're needing to buy advanced Restoration training.
4 of 7: After that, make the combo Charm/Fortify Mercantile spell, the Fortify Security spell, and the Frenzy spell described in the Spellmaking Tips.
5 of 7: Now that you have a horse, it would be a good idea to make a spell that heals 25 points for 2 seconds on Touch. That'll require a Restoration skill of 50, so use your Restoration practice spell to get it up that high if it isn't already.
6 of 7: Stand and use your Conjuration practice spell until your skill gets to 25, then make a Summon Skeleton spell that lasts for 8 seconds, and a combo Bound Dagger and Bound War Axe spell that lasts for one second. (That second spell can be used to create permanent bound daggers as specified in the Permanent Bound Weapon Tips.)
7 of 7: Stand and practice some more until your Conjuration skill reaches 50, after which you can create a spell to make permanent bound bows. You'll also now be able to use all of the bound armor spells you bought.
