The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

Azura

  • 1 of 13: Azura's shrine is at location 21 on the Jerall and Valus Mountains map. There's some steep terrain in that area, so you'll probably want to take a horse.
  • 2 of 13: You'll have to be at least level 2 to get this quest.
  • 3 of 13: Talk to Mels Maryon about "Shrine of Azura" after getting his disposition up to 50 or higher, then say that you want to summon Azura.
  • 4 of 13: He'll tell you that you have to activate the statue at dawn (5 to 7 am) or dusk (5 to 7 pm), and you'll need a portion of the glow dust ingredient.
  • 5 of 13: When you offer glow dust to the statue at the right time, you'll get the quest to go to the Gutted Mine (a ways SW of the shrine) and kill the five vampires inside.
  • 6 of 13: It's marked on your world map, but you can't fast-travel there, so just trudge on SW until you reach it.
  • 7 of 13: TIP: If you don't want to become a vampire at this point in the game, it's best to have a Cure Disease potion or spell that you can use in case you're infected.
  • 8 of 13: Those vampires are tough fighters, and there are a couple of swinging mace traps in the mine, so you'd better be prepared.
  • 9 of 13: TIP: Get the attention of the vampires one at a time, then lead them outside where you have a lot more room to maneuver. Keep hitting them with Flare spells while running around until they're dead.
  • 10 of 13: You should be able to find three of the "Afflicted Brethren" fairly easily, but the last two are in a section behind a secret door.
  • 11 of 13: Look around in the western-most room you can get to until you find a pull rope.
  • 12 of 13: Use it to open up the passage to the last few cave rooms, where you'll find the last two vampiric brethren.
  • 13 of 13: After they're all dead and you get the journal update, return to the shrine and use Azura's statue to get your reward of Azura's Star, a reusable grand soul gem.
