The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

Step 2: Find the Entrance to the Old Way

  • 1 of 13: Now you're going to have to go into the sewers and search around.
  • 2 of 13: There are several different ways to get into the sewer network, but the quest arrow on your world map is pointing (approximately) to the Arboretum area, so look around there.
  • 3 of 13: There's a sewer entrance grate next to a tree and large rock that are just SW of the door that leads to the Arena district.
  • 4 of 13: That entrance goes to a sewer area called The South East Tunnel, which is also enterable at location 11 on the Heartlands map.
  • 5 of 13: However you enter the tunnel area, make your way to the door to "Beneath the Bloodworks" that's near the area's east end.
  • 6 of 13: In the Bloodworks, head through the gate door to the north to find a gate that has to be opened remotely.
  • 7 of 13: In the large room to the north of that, find the NW side room and use the wheel mechanism in it.
  • 8 of 13: That'll allow you to drop into the water and head west to a similar room.
  • 9 of 13: In it, use the south passage to reach a gate that will open for you thanks to the key that the Gray Fox gave you earlier.
  • 10 of 13: Past that gate is a manhole leading down to the Palace Sewers.
  • 11 of 13: In the Palace Sewers, go straight forward and through a gate.
  • 12 of 13: Then go down the stairs and take the NW passage.
  • 13 of 13: You'll pass through two large circular cistern rooms and then come to a room with a "strange" door leading to the Old Way.
