The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Step 3: Find the Entrance to the Heart of the Imperial Palace
1 of 7: When you enter the Old Way, go west until you can turn south.
2 of 7: Go through the door you come to, then turn right and drop down into the lower room.
3 of 7: Head through the hole in the wall directly ahead of you (the west wall), then make your way along until you come to the door to the Lost Catacombs.
4 of 7: This area is very big, but is a lot easier to navigate than the Old Way was, so fight and loot your way along until you reach the giant Ayleid-style room to the NE.
5 of 7: The east passage leading away from that room has a gate in it that's opened remotely.
6 of 7: Past the gate is a door to the Hall of Epochs.
7 of 7: After passing through a room with four grabbable Welkynd stones on small pillars, you'll come to the huge Ayleid room where you'll need to use your Arrow of Extrication to open up a door to the Imperial Guard Quarters.
