My Custom Class Recommendation

Race: Breton (for the Resist Magic 50% and 50 extra magicka points)
Specialization: Combat
Favored Attributes: Strength and Endurance (for more carrying capacity and more hit points)

Major Skills:
    Blade, Block, Heavy Armor (to make combats a lot easier -- use Light Armor instead if you want to)
    Sneak (so you can be a good sneak early in the game, which helps with stealing and sneak attacks)
    Armorer (so you can get up to 50 skill points and start repairing magic weapons much earlier)
    Athletics and Acrobatics (so you won't start out totally slow and clumsy)

Birthsign: The Warrior (for the same reason as with the favored attributes -- change to "The Atronach" if spellcasting is a priority)
