The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Skingrad
of 8: Go to the Castle Skingrad County Hall and ask either Mercator Hosidus or Hal-Liurz about "Buy a house in town."
of 8: They'll both refer you to the orcish butler, Shum gro-Yarug. If he's not in the County Hall, follow the quest arrow on your local map to find him.
of 8: To get him to cooperate, you'll need to get his disposition up to 70 and your Fame stat up to 15.
of 8: If you don't mind evicting some poor guy, you can pay gro-Yarug 25,000 gold to purchase Rosethorn Hall.
of 8: Go visit your new house (called "Rosethorn Hall - My House") just a bit west of the east gate.
of 8: All of the previous tenant's stuff was evicted along with him, so you'll need to go see Gunder at the "Colovian Traders" store a bit to the west about buying new furniture.
of 8: Scroll down in his shop inventory to find the "House" items that you can buy, then return to your house with them in order to get the furnishings put in.
of 8: NOTE: The "Buying a house in Skingrad" quest won't leave your current quest list until you buy all the furnishings that Gunder has. You never really need to, but two interesting things become available after certain purchases.
