Portal 2 Hints
How can I get a franken-turret onto the big red button?
of 13: First, step on the aerial faith plate that's near the chamber's entrance to break Wheatley's monitor and get some Smash TV achievement credit.
of 13: Use the button on the pedestal that's near the faith plate to get a franken-turret dropped and punted into the big force field.
of 13: The force field destroys franken-turrets, so you'll need to find a way to intercept one before it can hit the force field.
of 13: Since this chamber doesn't have an excursion funnel in it, you'll have to use the light bridge.
of 13: The main light bridge section isn't high enough to block a franken-turret's flight, so use portals to create a bridge extension that will.
of 13: Put an orange portal on the wall where the light bridge is hitting it, then put a blue portal on the high-up portal-friendly wall section that's to the right of the force field.
of 13: Experimenting with different placements, you'll find that the bottom left corner of that wall section is where the blue portal needs to be.
of 13: Put it there and press the pedestal's button to get a franken-turret bounced off of the light bridge and into the lower area, which is guarded by four turrets that you can't destroy or knock over.
of 13: Depending on exactly where the franken-turret landed, it can be very tricky getting it out of there without getting killed. However, you can just keep pressing the pedestal's button for a new franken-turret until one lands in a convenient spot.
of 13: The most convenient spots are the corners that are to the left and right of the metal mesh that the four turrets shoot through.
of 13: The only way to get the franken-turret onto the big red button is to carry it around the force field, and the only way to do that is to use the walkway that's next to the exit door's upper floor.
of 13: Get on the walkway while carrying your franken-turret, then go along the walkway until it ends at a spot behind the force field.
of 13: If you drop down and try to get over to the big red button, you'll be shot down by the turrets, whose bullets can pass through the force field.
