Portal 2 Hints
How can I get through the exit door?
1 of 9: If you visually follow the blue dots that lead away from the exit door, you'll see that they lead to a laser receptacle.
2 of 9: There's a laser beam on the other side of the area, so you apparently need to redirect it into the receptacle to open the exit door.
3 of 9: There are two obstacles to getting that done. One is that the beam needs to be "bent" with a redirection cube, and the other is the solid wall that's in front of the receptacle.
5 of 9: Pick up the cube and drop down to the main floor, then position the cube so that it redirects the laser beam at the wall that's between it and the receptacle. (Note that it doesn't matter exactly where on the wall the beam is hitting.)
6 of 9: Now you need to somehow get the laser beam to go through or around the wall.
7 of 9: Once the laser beam is going into the receptacle, the exit doors will open, and you can leave. That is, after you portal yourself back up onto the exit door's raised floor area.
8 of 9: Note that you can easily see both sides of the laser-blocking wall from on the raised floor.
9 of 9: That means you can use portals to fling yourself onto that floor, then put them back on the laser-blocking wall to where the laser will hit the receptacle again. *Then* you can finally go through the exit door.
