Portal 2 Hints

How can I get to the storage cube?

  • 1 of 10: There are no faith plates that will toss you into the cube's area, and it has no portal-friendly surfaces, so what's the only possibility that's left?
  • 2 of 10: If you're thinking "portal flinging," you're absolutely correct!
  • 3 of 10: There are no slanty extended wall panels and/or faith plates you can use for this fling, so what's another flingin' gimmick that's often used?
  • 4 of 10: Look around for a deep pit with a portal-friendly floor.
  • 5 of 10: There's one right next to the storage cube's side area.
  • 6 of 10: Look down into the pit and fire a blue portal onto its floor, then turn around and look up.
  • 7 of 10: Put an orange portal on the highest portal-friendly section of the wall that's directly across from the cube's side area.
  • 8 of 10: Now you can drop into the blue portal to be flung out of the orange portal with enough force to land in the cube's area.
  • 9 of 10: ALTERNATIVE: If you're up next to the laser beam and barrier, you can set the orange portal as mentioned above, then put the blue portal on the floor right beneath you. Dropping into it from next to the barrier will give you enough momentum to reach the cube's side area.
  • 10 of 10: ALTERNATIVE #2: You could use an old flinging trick from the original Portal game. After placing the orange portal as mentioned above, go over to a spot directly beneath it, then look down and place a blue portal on the floor. Drop through it, then look down and make sure you drop through it again after falling out of the orange portal.
