How can I get rid of those turrets?

  • 1 of 17: There's no way to survive charging them, so you'll have to think of a devious way to knock them over.
  • 2 of 17: If you look into their area through the protective glass wall, you'll notice small portal-friendly sections on the walls to the left and right of the turrets' platform.
  • 3 of 17: You could try to portal-fling yourself onto the turrets and knock them over, but you'd probably either fall off their platform or (at best) knock two turrets over, only to be killed by the third one. A better idea is to use portals to get something else to knock them over for you.
  • 4 of 17: Look straight across the chamber from the entry door to see a large gap followed by an area with a repulsion gel tube and a button pedestal.
  • 5 of 17: There's also an excursion funnel going across the chamber over the drop-off. If you stand on the big red button that's near the entry door, you'll see that it reverses the polarity (flow direction) of the excursion funnel.
  • 6 of 17: You'll need to somehow put all of those elements together to get some repulsion gel dropped onto the turrets so they'll bounce around and fall into the abyss.
  • 7 of 17: To start on this extremely complex maneuver, use the portal-friendly surfaces near the gel tube and on your side of the gap to portal yourself into the gel tube's area.
  • 8 of 17: Press the pedestal's button to learn that it causes the gel tube to drop gel for five seconds before stopping.
  • 9 of 17: The next thing to do is rig a way to get from the gel tube area back to the starting area.
  • 10 of 17: The next thing to do is go back to the starting area, but not by yourself. Remember that you're trying to get repulsion gel to drop onto the turrets, but you can't do that without the aid of the polarity-reversing big red button.
  • 11 of 17: When you get back to the starting area, you'll need to have some repulsion gel in the funnel, and there's no way to get any in there if it isn't already. That means you have to travel along the funnel with it.
  • 12 of 17: It's best to travel ahead of it so you can exit the funnel and get onto the big red button before any of it hits the wall at the end of the funnel.
  • 13 of 17: Hit the pedestal's button, then quickly move onto the gel and jump up into the funnel. Ride it across to a spot near the end, then push your way out of it and run over to the big red button.
  • 14 of 17: Stand on it and watch the traveling gel until all or most of it passes through your portals and gets near the funnel generator, then turn and fire a blue portal onto the high-up wall section that's to the left of the turrets' platform.
  • 15 of 17: Quickly get off the red button to get the funnel to start flowing back the other way, then watch for the gel to flow into the extended funnel over the turrets.
  • 16 of 17: When it's above all three turrets, quickly relocate the blue portal onto a nearby floor section to drop the gel onto the turrets and get rid of them. Finally!
  • 17 of 17: NOTE: If you're wanting to get the Smash TV achievement, the only way to damage this chamber's monitor is to use a turret.
