Portal 2 Hints
How can I use repulsion gel to get to the exit?
1 of 16: Looking around, you'll see several higher ledges that you can't get to using portals.
2 of 16: That's where the relocatable repulsion gel comes in handy.
3 of 16: From the main floor, there's only one ledge low enough that you can jump onto it using repulsion gel.
4 of 16: To get some gel on the floor in front of it, put an orange portal on the floor directly under the gel tube if you haven't already, then put a blue portal on the portal-friendly wall section that's near the ledge. (Or put a blue portal on the floor in front of the ledge, then move the portal after a gel glob shoots up out of it.)
5 of 16: Get on the gel and jump onto the ledge, then get some gel on the ledge so you can use it to jump onto the higher floor.
6 of 16: One of the ledge's walls is portal-friendly, so put a blue portal on it to get some gel on the ledge's floor. You can then jump on it to get to the higher floor.
7 of 16: Looking across the huge drop-off, you'll see a far-off ledge with the word "EXIT" painted on its side. Due to the distance involved, you'll need to somehow portal-fling yourself across to that ledge.
8 of 16: Turn around and look across to the other side of the test chamber.
9 of 16: You see that slanted portal-friendly wall section that's behind a force field? That's your portal-flinging gimmick.
10 of 16: Put an orange portal on the slanted wall section, then move along the ledge to where you can look down to the main floor and put a blue portal on it that you could drop into.
11 of 16: If you drop into the blue portal, you'll be flung out of the orange portal with enough force to ... not make it anywhere near the exit ledge.
12 of 16: There's no way to fling yourself out of the orange portal any harder, so how could you extend your portal fling all the way to the exit ledge?
13 of 16: Maybe another repulsion gel application is in order.
14 of 16: After putting an orange portal on the slanted wall section, put a blue portal on the floor under the gel tube.
15 of 16: That'll get a glob of gel flung across to the floor section that you'll be landing on when you portal-fling yourself.
16 of 16: Relocate the blue portal to a spot where you can drop into it, then do so to be flung onto the gel and then bounced over to the exit ledge.
