How can I free Elizabeth and Jake?
1 of 13: If you take the staircase down to the lower level of this room, you will find a lever in the center of the room that will lower the cage.
2 of 13: The only problem is, unless you find some way of stopping the cage while it's falling, it will kill you.
3 of 13: There are also four gear boxes along the walls that might be able to help you here. Unfortunately, you can't pull the levers yet.
4 of 13: But if you flip the panels to the left of each of the gears, you should notice that there is some kind of symbol missing from each of the boxes.
5 of 13: You'll find the symbols inside the Viceroy's study.
6 of 13: The study is on an upper walkway in the room with the cage -- at the opposite end of the room from where you first entered.
7 of 13: The door is locked, but if you explore this area, you should eventually find the key.
8 of 13: Head through a door at the bottom of a short staircase, where you will find a guard with a whip.
9 of 13: Kill him, and you get the key, which you can use to unlock the door to the study.
10 of 13: Look around a bit, and you should find the symbols. They're not quite in plain sight, but they're not hard to find.
11 of 13: They're hidden in the four statues along one of the walls.
12 of 13: Take the symbols and put them in the appropriate spaces in the boxes back in the cage room. You should be able to pull each of the corresponding levers after you place the symbols.
13 of 13: Once you've pulled the levers on all four boxes, it is now safe to pull the lever in the center of the room. Four walkways will extend as the cage starts to descend, and both you and the two inside will be safe.
