Pentangle Complex Walkthrough
of 16: The letter fragment you want is in the large round pillar structure that's nearby, but there are two things you'll have to do before you can get it.
of 16: First, head on past the pillar and up the ladder that leads to a brick building. Find the monorail station just past the building and ride the car to the other station. (Press the power button and then the forward arrow.)
of 16: When you arrive at the other station, leave the power on and press the down arrow button. Strange -- it won't budge. Exit the car and click on the restraining pin in front of it that's holding it in place. It'll take off, leaving you free to open the secret hatch that was under it and explore down there.
of 16: When you come to a path split, head left (north) and you'll come to one of the screens on the sides of the pentagon-shaped building. This side is the NE side, so set its screen to show what the following graphic shows for the NE side (triangle-circle-triangle).
of 16: Return to the path split and head south this time and enter the small brick building. As soon as you're in, turn around and close the door you came in through. That will reveal a secret passage. Go along this passage until you come to a post with a lever on it. Hit the lever to unlock the door leading to the big round pillar with the letter fragment.
of 16: Return to the little square building and go through its other door. (It's a one-way door that takes you back to the starting section of the pentangle complex.) If you go through the door near the pillar and try to get the letter, you'll learn that the little door on the side of the pillar is still locked.
of 16: Return to the station where you first found the monorail, and it'll be back. Take it back across to its northern station, but this time just turn its power off and leave it be.
of 16: Leave the monorail station and head down the walkway that leads to the pentagon-shaped building. Don't approach its front door yet (it's still locked), but instead go left and around to its SE side. Set the screen there to what the "Pentagon Screen Shapes" graphic above says to put on the SE side.
of 16: Two more sides to go (the fifth side has the door, not a screen). Find your way to the brick building in the NW corner of the region and make your way around in it until you can go up the east ramp. (Note that you'll have to press the blue button next to the west ramp to lower it so you can cross it.)
of 16: After going up the east ramp, go down a ladder to get to the NW side of the pentagon building. Consult the preceding graphic to see what to set its shape to, then return to the ladder you just climbed down and yank the gold lever that's right next to it. That'll pump the water out of this building and into another one we don't care about in this walkthrough.
of 16: Climb back up the ladder and go down the east ramp. Press the button to lower the east ramp, then head across it and back to the west ramp. Press its button to raise it, then head all the way back around so that you can find the secret passage that's under the west ramp. It leads to the SW side of the pentagon building, so set this one final screen to the shape the graphic above says it should be.
of 16: Now head back through the passage and all the way back to the front door of the pentagon-shaped building. Find the panel near that door and press its button to unlock the door (provided you did all the right screen settings). Enter the building and check it out.
of 16: There are five symbol-showing panels in the building, each of which is connected by a wire to the clock-like thing in the center. You need to set each of those five panels to show the correct symbol. Think of them as being numbered 1 to 5 left-to-right, then check the following graphic to see what symbol is associated with each number. For instance, the leftmost panel (#1) should be set to the zig-zag pattern.
of 16: Once they're all set, return to the door and find the control panel near it. Press the right button to get the "clock" to tick all the way around, then press the left button when it starts flashing. The little door in the side of the big round pillar back in the SE section of the complex is now unlocked.
of 16: Head all the way back there, skipping the monorail by taking the walkway that leads SE from the pentagon-shaped building. Once you're back in the pillar's area, press the button next to the door leading to it, then go click on the little door on the side of the pillar and take the letter fragment. Yours at last!
of 16: Exit the pentangle complex the way you came. Return to the round elevator tower, take it back up, then go all the way back to the Four Way Tower.
