Rhem 2 Hints

How can I get past the elevator puzzle?

  • 1 of 9: This is the obstacle where you have to ride some elevators to cross a gap in the walkway.
  • 2 of 9: Your goal is to reach the path you see from the starting point.
  • 3 of 9: There is a drawing on one of the sides of elevator A to help you understand how this puzzle works. Remember that by riding in one tube of the elevator you will also change the second cabin!
  • 4 of 9: Just ride the elevators and see how far you get.
  • 5 of 9: The sequence starts with elevator B, and the goal lies behind the second part of elevator C.
  • 6 of 9: Remember that I said in the General Hints that you need a good sense of direction -- you'll need it here to know which elevator you're in.
  • 7 of 9: The key to this puzzle is that you often have to send an elevator away without riding it.
  • 8 of 9: Giving more hints is only possible by giving you the answer to the puzzle, so the solution will come in the next hint. Don't read further if you want to solve it on your own.
  • 9 of 9: As I said above, start with elevator B. You have to call it first. Ride it down, exit it and send it back up. Then go to elevator C. This one you also have to call first. Ride it up and exit it to the second part of elevator B. As you sent elevator B up again the door is now unlocked; enter the elevator and ride it down to reach the gangway to elevator A. Send this one up without riding it and go back to the whole way to reach it from above. (This is necessary so that elevator C will be in the down position when you need it.) Walk around elevator A to reach the side where the sketch drawings were pinned to the wall. Enter elevator A from this side and ride down, turn right and exit the elevator. Ahead you should see a shutter door. Go there, press the button and follow the path to the second tube of elevator C and ride it upwards.
