Rhem 3 Hints

How can I reach that room?

  • 1 of 7: To say it simply: Open the two gates leading from the south door eastwards.
  • 2 of 7: Book 16 (in the library) tells you which buttons to press to open the gates.
  • 3 of 7: The only problem is, that the gate with the button must be closed and you must reach the correct side to press it. To keep the description easy, I'll reference the rooms by numbers starting with the room behind the east door as number 1 and counting clockwise. I'll reference the buttons by the numbers of the rooms that the gate separates, starting with the room the button can be pressed from. For example: The room behind the south door is room 5, and the button, that opens the door to the balcony behind the northern door is button 5-6, while button 6-5 opens gate 1-2. See the map if this helps you make better sense of things.
  • 4 of 7: As there is no reset-button (like in the glass brick maze in Rhem 2), it might be difficult to give a direct sequence to follow, especially if you tested this puzzle already. Fortunately, you can't get stuck in that puzzle -- so there's no state of opened and closed gates from which you can't return to a "valid" state. I'll assume starting from the default position nevertheless. If this solution tells you to open a gate that is already open just skip that part of the solution.
  • 5 of 7: You have to reach room 3, so you should start with opening gate 3-4: this gate has no button you might need later.
  • 6 of 7: After that open gate 5-4.
  • 7 of 7: On the eastern wall of room 3 you find a safe. Use the brown knob to open it and take the green crystal.
