Riddle of the Sphinx Hints
I lost the Royal Trumpet, and can't get it back!
There is a known problem is some versions of the ROTS software that cause the trumpet to disappear, return to its original location, and be unable to be retrieved again. This only seems to happen if you place the trumpet on the trumpet stand while facing the statue.
You may need to restore the game from an earlier save.
Next time use the trumpet stand while facing the other direction.
The problem can be fixed by applying the latest patches to ROTS, as found on the ROTS Web site (http://www.riddleofthesphinx.com/). Alternatively, do not place the trumpet on the trumpet stand while facing the statue. Instead, approach the stand from one side or the other -- i.e., facing one of the side walls of the room.
