Coconuts

  • 1 of 8: Where would you find coconuts?
  • 2 of 8: If you haven't already done so, go through the large stone arch, to an adjacent area of the beach where there are many palm trees.
  • 3 of 8: As you walk among the trees, you may hear a "thump" behind you.  Check it out.
  • 4 of 8: At least one coconut will fall from the trees while you are there.
  • 5 of 8: Some coconuts are already lying on the ground.
  • 6 of 8: Pick up all of the coconuts that you can find -- green and brown.  Some will be used for eating; some will be used for other purposes.
  • 7 of 8: Green coconuts can be "shelled" using a knife to get to the inner brown coconut.
  • 8 of 8: Brown coconuts can be cut up (again using a knife) to get the milk and meat from the coconut.
