Return to Mysterious Island Hints

How do I repair the key?

  • 1 of 13: The key appears to have a place to hold four crystals.
  • 2 of 13: The key itself is probably OK; it just needs the crystals replaced.
  • 3 of 13: The guardian robots had free access to the ship.
  • 4 of 13: That means that each of them must have a key, as well.
  • 5 of 13: You'll need to find one (or more) of the guardian robots, and persuade them to give up their key!
  • 6 of 13: Not really -- because they won't do it.  So you're just going to have to take it from them.
  • 7 of 13: Once you have retrieved four separate, damaged keys, look at them in inventory.
  • 8 of 13: Each one has a single, good crystal, which can be removed.
  • 9 of 13: The easiest way to do that is to pry them out.
  • 10 of 13: Use your knife or screwdriver on each key, to get a separate crystal.
  • 11 of 13: Before you can place them in Captain Nemo's key, though, you will need to remove the dead crystals from his key.
  • 12 of 13: Again, your knife or screwdriver will do the job.
  • 13 of 13: When you have four free crystals, combine them with Captain Nemo's key to get a full, working crystal key.
