  • 2 of 9: This may take some exploration around the Captain's Quarters, and some reading.
  • 3 of 9: You will need to get into the Captain's safe.
  • 4 of 9: Who was "the greatest conqueror"?
  • 5 of 9: That would be Alexander the Great.
  • 6 of 9: Who was Alexander's "respected master"?
  • 7 of 9: The answer is Aristotle -- or, rather, his book, a copy of which Captain Nemo keeps in his safe.
  • 8 of 9: But be careful -- there are two separate documents that make up this book.  Note that the riddle refers to "the pages of a completed work..."
  • 9 of 9: This refers to the second manuscript in the safe, "thought lost for ages", containing all 32 chapters of the original work.
