Sam & Max: Season 3 Hints

What are Flint Paper's three rules again?

  • 1 of 3: 1. Try interrupting the suspect's story with a question or a threat.
If you want to talk about a specific topic, you need to ask your question while the suspect is still talking about it, because if you just let them talk they'll finish that topic and go on to a new one. When you get to the end of what they have to say, you'll have the option of starting from the beginning again -- so there's no hazard to listening to their entire spiel all the way through the first time to see what's coming.
  • 2 of 3: 2. When you interrupt different parts of a suspect's story, you get different responses.
This is particularly important when you think the suspect is lying. If you accuse them of lying while they're still lying, they'll often break down and tell the truth; if you say they're lying when they're not, they'll get huffy, but that's about it.
  • 3 of 3: 3. Sometimes, info from one suspect will help you break another.
If you don't have any evidence that a suspect is lying, they may just bluff it out. Go talk to one of your other suspects for evidence, then come back and accuse them of lying again to confront them with the truth.
