Sam & Max: Season 3 Hints
How do I defeat the Bad Guy in the air?
of 17: After you reach the Clone Master at the top of the Statue of Liberty --
of 17: -- things will happen automatically for a bit. When you have control again, you're floating in mid-air and about to start a boss battle. The good news is that Max has now internalized all the psychic toy powers. The bad news is --
of 17: -- that it doesn't make that much difference. Charlie Ho-Tep has all the powers too, along with all the toys, and anything you can do, he can counteract. But he does have a weakness, as you've seen.
of 17: He went absolutely ape-poop when Norrington taunted him about Junior. Norrington isn't available anymore, but maybe we can use that weakness all the same.
of 17: If you use Psychic Ventriloquism on the Toy Box and speak with Norrington's voice, Charlie goes over to pound at the Toy Box. But he can't hurt it with his flabby dummy hands.
of 17: What if we could trick him into turning into the Cthonic Destroyer? Then he might very well fire at the Toy Box and destroy it.
of 17: That's not as impossible as it sounds. The first step is to read Sam's mind.
of 17: With all that chanting going on, Sam is thinking about the song currently being played. And whatever it is, it sends a picture of the power of that song floating up to where Max is. As Norrington explains, Max can now pluck images from others' minds as well as thoughts.
of 17: For example, if the song currently being played is "Flaming Crowns," Max gets a picture of fire labeled "Tongue of Flame." Hey, Charlie's made of wood, isn't he?
of 17: Use the Rhinoplasty on the flame picture to turn into a tongue of flame --
of 17: -- which makes Charlie turn into a bottle of soda water, rats. Okay, let's think this through.
of 17: Whatever Max turns into, Charlie turns into its opposite. We want Charlie to turn into the Cthonic Destroyer; therefore, Max should turn into something destroyed by the CD.
of 17: Like Charlie, for example.
of 17: So here's the plan. Have Sam switch to the tune "Tabula Charlie," then read his mind. This sends up a picture of Charlie.
of 17: Use the Rhinoplasty on the Charlie picture. Charlie will then turn into the Cthonic Destroyer.
of 17: Now use Psychic Ventriloquism on the Toy Box using Norrington's voice, and Charlie will destroy it.
of 17: And after that, things get REALLY weird.
