The Secrets of Atlantis Hints

How can I escape the floor trap?

  • 1 of 20: First, you'll need to light the place up a bit better.
  • 2 of 20: Looking carefully around, you'll find a large torch in a wall niche.
  • 3 of 20: It's a little to the right of where Captain Blackwood is standing.
  • 4 of 20: After the torch is lit, you can look around and see things a lot better.
  • 5 of 20: Things like Elliot's bag, which fell into the floor trap with you.
  • 6 of 20: Turn right from facing the torch, and look down on the floor.
  • 7 of 20: If you didn't click on the bag earlier to search it, do so now.
  • 8 of 20: You'll find a torn-out page that appears to have been written by your character's father after his alleged death. Read it over to see what it has to say.
  • 9 of 20: It relates a dream/vision the guy had, and mentions several things that are clues as to how to escape this trap.
  • 10 of 20: One thing it mentions is the Queen of Atlantis turning a bronze serpent three times. See any bronze serpents around here?
  • 11 of 20: There's a large and ornate ring right below the torch you just lit that looks kind of like a carving of a bronze serpent.
  • 12 of 20: And it's interactive now, so try clicking on it three times.
  • 13 of 20: After you do, look around to see what changed.
  • 14 of 20: Behind you, a large stone column raised up.
  • 15 of 20: Also, check the floor right in front of it.
  • 16 of 20: Where there used to be a square indentation, now there's a pushable button.
  • 17 of 20: Push it to get it and its stone column to lower, and two more over on the right to come up.
  • 18 of 20: This is the start of a puzzle where you need to push the floor buttons in front of certain stone columns. (Note that the bronze serpent ring is this puzzle's reset mechanism.)
  • 19 of 20: When the puzzle is solved, its stone columns will all be up, forming some steps that lead up to floor level.
  • 20 of 20: Click the feet-walking cursor on the bottom of the steps to climb up them, then look around for a way to raise the large grating up so you can climb out.
