Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Hints
How am I supposed to get the server access algorithm?
of 15: As Grimsdottir notes after you observe the executives' meeting in the meeting room, the one who's carrying around a laptop computer probably has the server access algorithm on that laptop.
of 15: You could hack the laptop from a distance using the EEV zoom, but you'd have to have line-of-sight with it, and it would have to hold still for a couple of minutes.
of 15: You can hack it from above via EEV while the execs are talking in the meeting room. You'd have to be in just the right place to scan the laptop through the closed trap door, and you'd have to hack it double-quick.
of 15: If you can't see where the laptop is setting, use the optic cable on the trap door to watch the exec pick it up on his way out, then restore a saved game and try locating it and hacking it as soon as you approach the trap door. If you find that too hard, then read on to learn about other opportunities.
of 15: After the executives leave the meeting room with their guards, head out cautiously and see if you can find where they went.
of 15: NOTE: On Expert difficulty, you have to sneak with a weapon drawn practically all the time when you're on hardwood floors to avoid being heard by guys who you'd think were way too far away to hear.
of 15: Down the hall is an entrance to the Operations Room, but it just has one ordinary computer tech in it.
of 15: A short ways down a side hall from the Operations Room entrance is a locked keypad door that you can hear voices on the other side of as you approach it.
of 15: If you instead enter the Operations Room and sneak downstairs and out the exit there, you'll find another keypad-locked door near a couple of bathrooms and a small lounge.
of 15: To get at those executives and their valuable laptop, you're going to have to open and go through one of those two locked doors.
of 15: You can go through either door and use any number of strategies to get at that laptop, but there are two particular ones that I like the best.
of 15: Hack the computer in the back of the computer area in the main gym room to get the server codes. You'll undoubtedly want to hack that very same computer anyway for the opportunity objective, so why not kill two objectives with one hack?
