Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Hints
How do I make it through the engine room without firing a shot?
1 of 5: Very stealthily. And remember that using a pistol bullet to put out a light counts as firing a shot, so don't do it! Instead, use the pistol's OCP to knock it out temporarily. (Also, don't try using any nonlethal projectiles.)
2 of 5: When you first enter the engine room (or soon after), two guards will be talking up on a raised walkway, and an engineer will be walking around down on your floor. (If he's nearby when you open the door, back away quickly since he may notice the door being open.)
3 of 5: First, follow the engineer around stealthily until you have a good opportunity to grab him and interrogate him. When you're done, drag his unconscious body to some dark spot where the guards on the upper levels are unlikely to spot it.
4 of 5: To get the guard on the second-floor walkway, go over to the base of the stairs that lead up and sneak up them and along the catwalk with a weapon drawn for maximum stealth. You should be able to sneak up behind the guy and grab him, then drag him off to a dark corner of the walkway to leave him.
5 of 5: As for the guard on the third-floor catwalk, you might just want to distract him by using the OCP on the light that's on the wall opposite the exit door. Make sure you go through that door when his back is turned, or he'll most likely see you due to all the light just past it.
