Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Hints

What's a good way to secure all three floors of the building?

  • 1 of 17: Start by going through the locked door in the big entry tunnel and getting to the bathroom that's near the first floor lobby.
  • 2 of 17: As soon as you reach the end of the crawl space that leads to the bathroom, exit it and go door-bash the guy in the toilet stall.
  • 3 of 17: Then head down the hallways until you come to the large open lobby area.
  • 4 of 17: Quickly crouch-run in the wet trench along the right wall past the big "Kokubo Sosho" wall sign all the way down to the other end. If the lobby guard sees movement, wait in darkness until he returns to his desk. (If he sees you and starts shooting, you'll have to restore a save and OCP the two lights near the big wall sign before trying to go by it.)
  • 5 of 17: Once across the lobby, head for the guy who's sitting next to a computer in the front area of the lobby (near all the scanners and the unopenable front doors). Duck under the camera that's on one wall and grab the guy right out of his chair.
  • 6 of 17: Drag him back to the nearest dark corner for disposal, then find the floor-level crawl space that's in the nearby wall.
  • 7 of 17: Use the crawl space to sneak up behind the guard at the desk and grab him.
  • 8 of 17: Drop him behind the desk and then look toward the stairs to see where the other guard is. Be sure to stay in darkness so he won't see you.
  • 9 of 17: He may be on the ground floor, walking around on the stairs, or up at the top of the stairs. Wherever he is, quickly down him with a sticky shocker.
  • 10 of 17: Now go up the stairs to the third floor and head left and around to where you can see a guard or two in a nearby hallway.
  • 11 of 17: Find the high-up crawl space on one wall and go in through it. You'll end up in a dark corner of a room with two blindfolded American hostages and a guard who's yelling at them.
  • 12 of 17: You can forget about luring either of the two nearby guards off down some obscure hall for easy disposal -- they'll stay in and around the room the American hostages are in.
  • 13 of 17: After the guard who's yelling at the Americans leaves the room, take out the pistol and shoot out the two lights that are near the crawl space. (One is up on the ceiling and looks kind of like a security camera, and the other is on the wall further down.)
  • 14 of 17: Go back to the crawl space corner and then sneak forward along the left wall until you get close enough to the automatic sliding door for it to open. Whistle to get the guards' attention, then quickly move back to your dark area.
  • 15 of 17: Hopefully both guards will come in and cluster together, making a sticky camera gas attack easy to pull off. If not, you may have to sticky-shock them one at a time.
  • 16 of 17: That just leaves the guard and janitor in a side hallway on the third floor. If you insist on taking them down, you can do so easily with two sticky shockers. (Wait in the dark spot at your end of the hall until the janitor is as close to you as he gets, then get first him and then the guard.)
  • 17 of 17: Or if you'd rather get both with one sticky camera, head back all the way to the big tunnel with the two guards and the camera, and this time take the alternate route instead of the door. (See the hints on getting into the building again for details.)
