2 of 5: It is, in fact, in the room adjacent to this one -- the one on the same side of the hall, and slightly nearer the stairs.
3 of 5: There is a door in the side of this room that opens into the adjacent room -- apparently an unused bathroom, with piles of bricks lying around.
4 of 5: Look at the bricks nearest to the toilet.
