Sentinel: Descendants in Time Hints

How do I work the devices at the top of the light towers?

  • 1 of 12: Nice view from here, isn't it?  This may be the first time that you've been able to discern that Sanselard is actually a connected chain of floating "islands".
  • 2 of 12: What else can you see from this vantage point?
  • 3 of 12: You should be able to see the large tower with the four dish antennae in the distance.
  • 4 of 12: What happens when you click on the device at the edge of the platform?
  • 5 of 12: Your cursor is made "active" on the device itself -- in more than one spot.
  • 6 of 12: In fact, there are a total of eight spots that the cursor is active -- at each of the primary and secondary points of the compass (i.e., each 45-degree sector).
  • 7 of 12: What happens when you click on any of the eight metal rings around the edge of the outer circle?
  • 8 of 12: The obvious result is that some part of the device moves to the point where you clicked, then returns to the top position.
  • 9 of 12: But what did that accomplish?
  • 10 of 12: To fully understand what is happening when you click on any of these contacts, you'll need to do several things.  First, you'll want to try clicking on different ones, to see what different results you get.
  • 11 of 12: Take your time between each one; the result will not always be immediately apparent.
  • 12 of 12: As you click on different contacts, you are changing the "phase" of the light beam that is being emitted from your tower.
