The Testament of Sherlock Holmes Hints
How does the map box's puzzle work?
1 of 9: First, notice the little levers on the left and right sides of the box that you can use to scroll its map display.
2 of 9: Either click on a lever repeatedly, or click and hold on it to scroll the map smoothly.
3 of 9: As you scroll along, notice the green dots that mark particular cities around the world.
4 of 9: When not scrolling the map, you can click on a green dot to select its city. You can then click on another green dot to change the selection.
5 of 9: There's also a number along the top of the box with left and right arrows next to it. At first, clicking on those arrows will just get Holmes to say that he's missing some information.
6 of 9: You'll need to look around for clues to the box puzzle's solution. After you find them, the game will let you change the box's number.
7 of 9: It'll also let you click on some new items to bring up copies of the clues you found. When you're done viewing a clue, right-click to close it.
8 of 9: You'll need to use the clues to figure out what cities are relevant to the puzzle, and what number is associated with each of them.
9 of 9: After you enter the correct number for all of the relevant cities (in any order), the box will open.
