What do I need to do with the torn pieces of paper?
1 of 6: Holmes said to put the pieces on the table, doubtlessly referring to the small desk that the trash can is next to.
2 of 6: Look on the desk's left side to find a small frame with a hand icon on it.
3 of 6: Select the torn paper pieces in inventory, then click on the frame's hand icon to bring up the torn paper reassembly puzzle screen.
4 of 6: Save your game after that ordeal is over, then notice that there are hotspots on the desk for a candle and a rope that's strung between two posts.
5 of 6: If you click on the candle's hotspot, you'll find that it's still hot from being used recently.
6 of 6: All of this is supposed to lead you to the conclusion that the torn-up paper you painstakingly reassembled has a secret message on it.
