The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Hints

Addiction

  • 1 of 12: You get this quest at the same time you get "The Lady of Paranoia." You can do them in either order.
  • 2 of 12: Make this quest active and then follow the quest arrow to find Thadon. (If he's in his locked Duke's Quarters, it's probably best to wait until he leaves them at about 6 am.)
  • 3 of 12: Talk to the nutty guy until he tells you that he wants his Chalice of Reversal back.
  • 4 of 12: Before you can go after it, you'll need to ask around to find out where the thing might be.
  • 5 of 12: You can ask either his steward (Wide-Eye) or Syl's (Kithlan).
  • 6 of 12: NOTE: It's easier to talk to Wide-Eye if you can find her, since Kithlan requires you to get his disposition up to 60 before he'll talk.
  • 7 of 12: Whoever you talk to, ask about the chalice to learn that it's in Dunroot Burrow (location 48 on the world map), then ask about felldew to learn about it.
  • 8 of 12: Travel to Dunroot Burrow and follow the quest arrow to the entrance.
  • 9 of 12: Due to the fact that felldew withdrawal can be so bad, it's best to save your game at the beginning of each burrow area, then explore it thoroughly before restoring your save and taking the most efficient route to the exit.
  • 10 of 12: Below are tips on how to best get through each area that you need to go through to find the Chalice of Reversal.
  • 11 of 12: After you get back outside with the chalice, return to New Sheoth and follow the quest arrow to Thadon.
  • 12 of 12: Talk to Thadon to turn the chalice over.
