The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Hints
Xeddefen, Great Chamber
1 of 12: Move down the passage until you get a journal entry about an obelisk being powered by the spire.
2 of 12: After you get that journal entry, turn right and move forward a bit.
3 of 12: Watch as someone comes out of a secret hiding place in the wall.
4 of 12: It's good old Shelden from Passwall, so go talk to him.
5 of 12: Tell him that he can come with you to make him into an unkillable companion. If you don't want him ruining any stealth endeavors of yours, have him wait where he is right after he joins you.
6 of 12: Go around until you can enter the room with the obelisk in the center.
7 of 12: You need to put three Hearts of Order into the obelisk to shut it down. If you don't have that many, you'll have to fight Knights of Order until you do.
8 of 12: Thankfully, you don't have to worry about the nearby priest reactivating the obelisk after it's shut down.
9 of 12: By far the easiest way to handle this situation if you start out with three or more hearts is to sneak up to the obelisk and stick hearts into it as fast as it'll let you.
10 of 12: Once the third heart is in, immediately run back the way you came and get Shelden to start following you again if you had him wait somewhere earlier.
