The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Hints
Xaselm, Experiment Chambers
1 of 8: If you take the immediate left turn when you enter this area, you'll find an interesting experiment room where an elven maiden is set up in an arena-like area beneath the floor. Read the scroll on the table for an explanation, then hit the western push button and watch the fun. (The two southern push buttons can be used to spring traps down there to damage the participants.)
2 of 8: North of the arena side area, skip the closed gate and turn left.
3 of 8: Keep moving along until you reach a large room with a metal door, a metal gate, and some stairs going down.
4 of 8: Take the stairs and keep going down until you get to a room with a metal door, twin southern passages, and some stairs going up on the east side.
5 of 8: The door and passages only lead to more just-for-fun experiment chambers, so go up the eastern stairs when you're ready to move on.
6 of 8: In the room past a metal door, enter the tunnel in the north wall.
7 of 8: In it, you'll find doors to the Corpse Pit and Sanctum of Vivisection areas.
8 of 8: As your quest arrow will show you, the Sanctum of Vivisection is where you need to go.
