Rebuilding the Gatekeeper

  • 1 of 21: Now you're to go to Xaselm (location 29 on the world map) and see if Relmyna Verenim would be willing to build another Gatekeeper.
  • 2 of 21: Below are hints on getting through the two areas you have to pass through to get to Relmyna's sanctum.
  • 3 of 21: In the Sanctum of Vivisection, follow the quest arrow to find Relmyna, who may be working on her pain experiments with live (and screaming) subjects!
  • 4 of 21: You can use the push buttons to "experiment" on them a bit yourself. Whether you do or not, talk to Relmyna and tell her that you need the Gatekeeper rebuilt.
  • 5 of 21: She'll give you a key to the Gardens of Flesh and Bone dungeon that's in the Fringe area, and tell you what ingredients she needs from there.
  • 6 of 21: Instead of heading off right away, talk to Relmyna about her victims in order to get a little extra "side quest" sort of thing.
  • 7 of 21: Find the exit that leads straight outside (it's marked by a quest arrow). You can go out that way now that you have Relmyna's key.
  • 8 of 21: Once outside, notice that you're at the "Xaselm Secret Entrance" map marker, which you can fast-travel back to later on.
  • 9 of 21: For now, fast-travel to the Gates of Madness so you can enter the Fringe and make your way to the Gardens of Flesh and Bone (west and a bit north of Passwall).
  • 10 of 21: After you arrive, go through the gate in the outer ruins to find the door to the starting Gardens area.
  • 11 of 21: Below are sectional hints on getting through the Gardens and finding what you need for Relmyna.
  • 12 of 21: When you have the Blood Liqueur from the Natatorium area, you're ready to leave.
  • 13 of 21: Once you're back outside, fast-travel to Passwall, go through one of the madness gates, then fast-travel to Xaselm's secret entrance so you can get back to Relmyna quickly.
  • 14 of 21: When you talk to her, she'll tell you to go choose which of the available body parts you want her to put in the finished product.
  • 15 of 21: Follow the quest arrows to find the room with all the parts in it, then activate the ones that you want the new Gatekeeper to have.
  • 16 of 21: After you pick your parts and talk to Relmyna, leave through the secret exit (the one you used before) and fast-travel to the Gates of Madness.
  • 17 of 21: Enter the Fringe and talk to Relmyna after getting a journal entry.
  • 18 of 21: You can get another new greater power by walking up to the Gatekeeper and clicking on him after the ceremony is over.
  • 19 of 21: In fact, you can cycle through a set of six greater powers by clicking on the Gatekeeper over and over. (Which exact powers are in the set depend on which body parts you chose earlier.)
  • 20 of 21: Before you can fully explore which powers are available to you, you'll have to wait for the Gatekeeper to beat the crap out of some Knights of Order that run up and attack.
  • 21 of 21: After you get the Gatekeeper power that you want to keep for now, go through one of the madness gates and fast-travel to New Sheoth's palace so you can report in to Sheogorath.
