The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Hints

Caverns of Susurration

  • 1 of 15: This area is a *major* maze, but there is a gimmick for getting through it without mapping it out or having exact directions.
  • 2 of 15: Notice the breathy little gust of air that you can both see and hear a bit ahead of you when you first enter the caverns. (It's a lot easier to see if you have a Night-Eye spell in effect.)
  • 3 of 15: If you just stand and wait, it repeats.
  • 4 of 15: So move up to where it is/was.
  • 5 of 15: After you go past some roots that politely open up for you, you'll come to the first of many path splits.
  • 6 of 15: Wait and watch for the air gust to appear again.
  • 7 of 15: When it does, notice that it's trying to lead you down the left (east) passage.
  • 8 of 15: At the following four-way path split, stand and look around for the air gust until you see which way it's pointing you.
  • 9 of 15: It's flowing into the south passage, so go that way.
  • 10 of 15: Just keep following the air gust along, fighting or sneaking past the hungers that you encounter.
  • 11 of 15: NOTE: There are other signs you can follow, like the Withering Moon plants, but I found it easiest to follow the air gust.
  • 12 of 15: Eventually, you'll reach a chamber with a big glowing plant.
  • 13 of 15: Click on it to get some Essence of Breath captured in a flask, then click again to take the flask.
  • 14 of 15: After you have it, go back north along the passage with the Withering Moon plants at its entrance.
  • 15 of 15: When you reach the four-way path split, turn left (west) and move on until you reach the door to the Natatorium of Wound Bled Tears.
