The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Hints

Desideratus Annius' Ghost

  • 1 of 14: This ghost will flee through the SE-most of the three doors that lead to the Keep soon after each battle iteration begins. Wait for him near that door. (Note that he starts out very close to Hloval Dreth's Ghost.)
  • 2 of 14: Talk to him to learn that he wants his betrothed saved.
  • 3 of 14: If you ask Hloval Dreth nearby about Desideratus' betrothed, he'll reveal that "she" is nothing more than a stupid doll! (Remember whose realm you're in, here.)
  • 4 of 14: The doll can't be found at its tombstone near the NW corner of the Bailey area, so return to the Keep area.
  • 5 of 14: Check your local area map to find a green quest arrow pointing you to the northern-most of two sleeping niches that are east of the dining hall.
  • 6 of 14: You'll find the doll on the upper bunk in the NE corner of the indicated sleeping niche.
  • 7 of 14: However, giving it to Desideratus won't help -- he'll just run inside with it and put it back on the bunk where you found it to "keep it safe."
  • 8 of 14: But notice what he says about killing all the fanatics if they ever managed to get ahold of the doll.
  • 9 of 14: Why not help them do just that?
  • 10 of 14: Get the doll and go wait near the Reservoir door in the Bailey area.
  • 11 of 14: When the fanatic raider ghosts appear, click on one of them to place the doll on him.
  • 12 of 14: Desideratus will already have run off, so wait for him to appear in the next battle iteration. When he does, tell him about the fanatics having his precious doll.
  • 13 of 14: Or instead of giving the doll to a fanatic, you could burn it by using the flaming brazier that's near the sealed door that leads outside or the one in the Mausoleum area. Then report to Desideratus that you burned the doll.
  • 14 of 14: Either way, wait until you get a journal entry saying that you've eliminated one of the four fanatic raiders.
