How do I get the tournament trophy?

  • 1 of 21: You'll need to solve most of the other puzzles in this Chapter of the game first.
  • 2 of 21: Go to the Acre Gap (use the map inside the phone booth to transport you there).
  • 3 of 21: Look inside the big red tent.
  • 4 of 21: The trophy is on display here.  You won't be able to pick it up, though.
  • 5 of 21: You need to enter the gnome-firing contest and win the trophy for yourself.
  • 6 of 21: Talk to the man inside the tent to find out what you need to enter the contest.
  • 7 of 21: In order to enter, you will need the 50 Groat entry fee.
  • 8 of 21: Bring the entry fee to the man in the red tent.
  • 9 of 21: Talk to him about the contest. 
  • 10 of 21: During the discussion, you'll learn that Simon will need some additional items.
  • 11 of 21: Simon will need a gnome, some dynamite, and a telescope tube.
  • 12 of 21: Once you have all the items you need, move up to the gnome-firing area and wait for your turn.
  • 13 of 21: When it's your turn, you'll need to assemble the gnome firing equipment.
  • 14 of 21: Have you tried to put the gnome inside the telescope tube?
  • 15 of 21: You should see a scene of Simon trying to -- but the gnome won't go in.
  • 16 of 21: The fit between the gnome and the telescope tube is a bit tight.
  • 17 of 21: Perhaps if you had something to make the gnome a bit more slippery he might fit.
  • 18 of 21: You'll need some butter to grease up the gnome.
  • 19 of 21: Use the butter to grease the gnome, then put the gnome inside the telescope tube.
  • 20 of 21: Add the *unlit* dynamite to the other end of the telescope tube.
  • 21 of 21: Light the dynamite (with the magnifying lens) to fire the gnome at the target.  Simon will win the trophy.
