Black Book: Filament and Filigree
1 of 6: The black book that starts this quest is in the Kolbjorn Barrow, and can only be found after finishing the "Unearthed" side quest.
2 of 6: Reading that book will put it in your inventory and get you transported to Hermaeus Mora's special Oblivion plane, known as Apocrypha. If this is your first visit, Mora will give you a verbal intro, and then you'll get this quest.
3 of 6: From where you start, go around the stack of books that's in front of you, then go up some stairs to reach a closed gate.
4 of 6: Look to the right of it for a "scrye" device that you can use to open the gate, then move past it while watching out for creatures called seekers and lurkers. Both are very dangerous (especially the lurkers), so sneak along and try to sneak-shoot them before they see you.
5 of 6: When you get down to the other end of the walkway, look around on the raised platform for some treasure, plus a huge copy of the book that this quest is named after.
6 of 6: Activate the book to open it, then aim at a spot a ways above each of the glowing green circles to get prompts for the Secret of Strength, the Secret of Arcana, and the Secret of Protection.
