Where can I get an ancient nordic pickaxe?

  • 1 of 4: The easiest way to get one is to do the "Retrieve the ancient nordic pickaxe" miscellaneous quest.
  • 2 of 4: You can also find them randomly in many treasure chests, especially the big, fancy ones.
  • 3 of 4: You can get the unique one named Hoarfrost by doing the "Unearthed" side quest (or by pickpocketing it from Ralis Sedarys without doing the quest).
  • 4 of 4: After you finish the "The Fate of the Skaal" mainline quest, Baldor Iron-Shaper in the Skaal Village may have an ancient nordic pickaxe in his store inventory (though note that it'll be expensive). If he's gone missing, you'll need to finish the "A New Source of Stalhrim" side quest to get him back.
