The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Collect ash from an ash spawn.

  • 1 of 4: No spawn ash that you've obtained will do for this quest. You'll need to find a live ash spawn and kill it.
  • 2 of 4: Check the World Map Exploration Guide to see where all the ash spawn lairs are, or start on the "March of the Dead" side quest if you haven't already.
  • 3 of 4: Or go to Raven Rock's temple and do the "Clear the Temple's tomb of ash spawn" miscellaneous quest.
  • 4 of 4: Once you kill an ash spawn, activate its ash pile and choose the "extract ash" option. (Note that you could look for ash piles from ash spawn you killed before getting this quest. If they haven't vanished yet, you can extract from them.)
