What shortcut is available?
1 of 6: From the closed gate, turn right and go down a short side passage until you reach the edge of the toxic liquid.
2 of 6: Look to the east to see a small, slanty "island." That's where you need to go, and you'll have to cross the toxic liquid to get there.
3 of 6: Swimming through the liquid is very painful, and you may have to bring up your inventory and use some healing potions during the trip.
4 of 6: If you have Ahzidal's Boots of Waterwalking ("Unearthed" side quest) or a Potion of Waterwalking ("The Final Descent" side quest), you can use it to get across the liquid faster and with much less damage.
5 of 6: Kill the seeker that's on the island, then use the island's scrye device before reading its "Chapter VI" book.
6 of 6: After the book teleports you, read the "Chapter VIII" book to get teleported again.
